Finally after some 5 maybe 6 months after having our lives all put on hold we have our beloved football returning, which means; smiling happy faces, laughter, learning, friendship, teamwork, goals, blocks, tackles, passes, including some blood, sweat & tears...and BYFC back in action fingers crossed for the upcoming 2020-2021 season!!
The club are currently have the wheels in motion for covid-19 safe training sessions, and safety measures being implemented with social distancing guidelines being adhered to at all times following current FA and government guidelines, (lots of hand sanitizer and cleaning stations).
Now we have finally been able to go forward with our club presentation awards for each team over the next couple of weeks and start preperations for this season as it speedily approaches.
Plans for a BYFC 20th anniversary GALA day have been put on hold as we still look for an available opportunity to thank previous members who help build this club and to have a celebration as a club event for everyone old and new to enjoy (watch this space!!)
Team news
Our u8 Jets are now u9's moving up to 7 a side games playing on bassingbourn rec with Huw Jones taking over the reigns for the team, after a fantastic debut season, of which was a great pleasure to be involved with, lets keep the momentum going!!
Our u10 warriors are u11's run by john ford, simon digby & myself moving up to 9 aside and playing on the college now rather than the rec, we are still looking for additional players for a really great bunch of boys to coach!!
Unfortunatley on a sad note we lost our old u11/s (would be u12's) for this season as the teams manager simon brown has decided to call it a day running the team, with a lack of players in that age group. It is always sad to see a team not make it to adult football together... I would personally like to thank simon for all of his work over the last 4 years running the team and the loyalty and dedication he showed to the club along with the boys who always showed a great passion and desire whilst playing for BYFC.
Our u13's this season run by chris crafter will be looking for a strong season playing 11 aside on the college pitches, getting stronger every season
Our u14's run by matt hobson, rob fortune and matt clowery are also looking good for this season following some really good improvements as a team towards the end of last season also playing on the college pitches.
Finally, i would like to thank all of our club sponsors for last season and this season, your support is always greatly appreciated
The club are always looking for new players, volunteers and supporters so if your interested please get in touch!!
good luck for the new season everyone!
